CENRO seizes 3,000 board feet lumbers

NAGUILIAN, Isabela — The Community Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) – Naguilian confiscated Thursday 3,000 board feet of sawn lumbers at barangay Ibujan, San Mariano, Isabela.

Elmer Cuanan, CENR Officer, said the confiscation was made upon receiving reports from concerned citizen in the town and immediately check and found the bulk of sawn lumber in the said barangay.

Cuanan said the government was sincere in its drive against illegal logging as it implements total log ban.

The environment official warned illegal loggers in his area of jurisdiction to stop the illegal activities to avoid consequences in violating environmental laws.

The confiscated sawn lumbers are now impounded at the CENRO – Naguilian for safekeeping and will serve as evidence in filing necessarily charges to the violators. PNA/northboundasia.com
