LAOAG CITY —The second wave of Ilocano book fair, participated by independent publishers and writers from the different Ilocano-speaking provinces of Ilocos and Cordillera regions, Cagayan, Isabela and Metro Manila is set on August 26-27 at the University of the Philippines, Baguio City.
Organized by GUMIL Filipinas, an association of Ilocano writers in the Philippines in collaboration with UP Baguio, invited lecturers on Filipino and Ilocano langguage will also share their insights on the following topics: independent publishing, translation, writing and Ilocano literature are some of the highlights of the two-day activity backed by some government agencies promoting language and publishing.
At least 14 new Ilocano books composed of fiction, children’s short stories, poems and Ilocano comics will also be exhibited and up for sale during the event.
In view of this, organizers are calling on interested publishers and authors to join the book fair, including students and teachers who are open to attend the lectures.
Specifically, the book fair will be held at the Student-Alumni Complex Lobby of UP Baguio while lectures will be conducted at the Abraham Sarmiento Hall.
