CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City — Police have arrested eight suspected drug pushers in separate operations in Cagayan and Nueva Vizcaya provinces over weekend.
Director of the Cagayan Valley regional police, Chief Supt. Gilbert C. Sosa, identified the eight as Eliza Abuyan, 48, of Barangay Toran, Aparri in Cagayan; Lery Centeno, 58, of Barangay San Antonio, Aparri; Rizal Velasco, 32, of Barangay Takiki, Gattaran in Cagayan; Roger Paredes, 28, of Barangay Maura, Aparri; Benjamin Macadangdang Jr., 35, of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya; Jose Alidanda, 42, of Barangay Roxas, Solano; Nazer Sabado, 27, of Bone North, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya; and Dominador Badilla, 39, of Barangay Andarayan South, Solana, Cagayan.
Sosa said Abuyan and Centeno were arrested in a buy-bust operation. Confiscated from them were three plastic sachets containing a crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, cash and drug paraphernalia.
Velasco meanwhile was carrying one plastic sachet of suspected shabu, PHP500 in marked money, and a .22-caliber gun when he was arrested.
Paredes, Macadangdang, Alidanda, Sabado and Badilla had in their possession sachets of a substance believed to be shabu at the time of their arrest.
Police are preparing charges for the eight for violating Republic Act 9265 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002 and illegal possession of firearms.
