MANILA — Due to rains brought by the southwest monsoon, more than 9,000 individuals are now staying in different evacuation centers in Marikina City, Mayor Marcelino Teodoro said on Sunday.
In a text message sent to PNA, Teodoro said that as of 10:30 a.m., 1,781 families or 9,152 individuals still staying in 21 evacuation centers in the city.
Based on information posted in the Twitter account of Public information Office (PIO) of Marikina, the water level in Marikina River is down at 16.3 meters as of 11:05 a.m. and is still on “Alert Level 2” as all of the river’s eight flood gates were opened.
All flood gates in Manggahan, Pasig City which leads to Laguna Lake are open to accommodate the volume of water coming from the river. PNA/northboundasia.com
