“The equipment that the President will program for the military will definitely increase our warfighting capability,” PA spokesperson Col. Benjamin Hao said on Thursday.

Items which President Duterte want for the military include more attack helicopters, naval fast craft, long-range sniper rifles, force protection equipment and secured radios.

The President earlier said he is willing to forgo the tedious bidding process in government to acquire more guns, ammunition and equipment for the military.

“We should buy from our traditional market. Everything will be quality and fast,” he said.
