MANILA — Two road sections in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) are still closed to traffic after Typhoon Carina caused a landslide and washed out a detour bridge.
The Department of Public Works and Highways-Bureau of Maintenance (DPWH-BOM) reported as impassable the Abra-Kalinga Road (K0484+700, K0485+100, K0486+980, K0488+200, K0489+800) in Abra which was closed following a landslide, and the Kabugao-Pudtol-Luna Road (K0612+961, Nagyadan Section) in Apayao, which was closed after the detour road of the Nagyadan Bridge No. 2 was washed out.
Warning signs and barricades have been installed along the affected road sections as clearing operations began.
Damages on roads, bridges, and flood-control infrastructure were estimated at Php 168 million. PNA/ northboundasia.com
