DAGUPAN CITY — Pangasinan’s Fourth District Rep. Christopher Venecia hailed the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte before the joint session of Congress on Monday.
In a text message to PNA, De Venecia said: ” I appreciate the candid and honesty of President Rodrigo Duterte in addressing the most pressing needs and issues concerning our country”.
“For his fighting tone and the way he engaged his audiences, was certaintly a different from previous SONAs–one that spoke most to the Filipino people whose 91 percent trust ratings he enjoys,” he added.
“I appreciate his mention of culture and how it ought to be valued and respected by the people; his recognition of agriculture and tourism as drivers of economic growth, on post-harvest facilities for the farmers so that they may increase their income capabilities and better access and amenities for travel in our major gateways,” the neophyte Pangasinan congressman said.
