OLONGAPO CITY — As police intensifies its campaign against illegal drugs, two alleged drug pushers were killed, while another was arrested in a simultaneous buy-bust operations in this city.
Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO) chief Senior Superintendent Jerry Tait Sumbad said those killed were identified as John Ryan Baluyot, alias “Binata”, 24, of Barangay East Bajac-Bajac; and one Jack Bertolfo, 40, of 63 Upper Gabaya St., Barangay Baretto, both of this city.
Based on the investigation, police from OCPO Station 3 shot and killed Baluyot when he pulled and pointed his Caliber .38 pistol to one of the policemen who were about to arrest him during a buy-bust operations around 2:50 a.m. on Thursday.
Confiscated from Baluyot’s possession were the Cal. 38 pistol with three live bullets, three plastic sachets containing shabu and several drug paraphernalia.
Bertolfo was also shot and killed after pointing his Caliber .45 pistol to police officers implementing a search warrant in his house where sachets containing marijuana leaves and suspected shabu, one Caliber .45 improvised singles-shot hand gun, and ammunitions were confiscated.
In another buy-bust operation in Block 1, Lower Barangay Gordon Heights here, police elements of OCPO Station 5 were able to arrest Christian Totanes Medina, 41, of the said place.
Meanwhile, a suspected victim of summary execution was found by residents near Sta. Rita Memorial cemetery at around 3 a.m. on Thursday.
The victim, who sustained five gunshot wounds in the body from a caliber .45 pistol, has no identification cards except tattoos. PNA/northboundasia.com
