“Biyahe Ni Drew” Revisits La Union

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union–Triathlete Drew Arellano of GMA News TV and his crew came to the province and had a three-day shoot of various tourist sites, industries, activities including food that has become popular here.

Drew explored Tangadan Falls in San Gabriel town and tried different water activities at Thunderbird Resorts at Poro Point. He had a grand time in Jet Skiing, Water Skiing and Banana Boat Riding.

The crew took segments of grape picking at Lomboy Farms in Bauang and sugarcane wine or basi, and silver craft industries in Naguilian. Also featured was the pottery of San Juan, honey and silk making of Bacnotan, loom weaving of Bangar and the basket industries in Sudipen.

The veteran travel host and his team relished the mouth-watering dishes at Gefseis Greek Grill and Healthy smoothie bowls at Makai Bowls of Flotsam and Jetsam in San Juan. They also promoted “seven ways to cook bagnet” at Villa d’ El-lita Restaurant of Sudipen and tried the Bacnotan longganisa which is gaining fame in La Union.

“Pauli-ulit kong binabalikan ang La Union,” said Drew who claimed that three days are not enough to explore what the province has to offer.

The La Union episode of “Biyahe ni Drew” will be aired on GMA NEWS TV on July 22 at 8 P.M.

Started in 2013, “Biyahe ni Drew” tours the Philippines from the point of view of the budget-conscious traveler. It ends each episode with a list of total money spent.
