BI identifies 4 HK nationals nabbed from ‘floating shabu lab’ in Subic

MANILA — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has identified the four Hong Kong nationals who were arrested from a “floating shabu laboratory” in Barangay Calapandayan, Subic, Zambales on Tuesday dawn.

Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the four as Leung Shu Fook, Kwok Kam Wah, Lo Wing Fai, and Chan Kwok Tung.

With this, Morente has instructed Legal Division chief Arvin Cesar Santos to investigate further the immigration status of the suspects and file deportation charges against them for undesirability without prejudice to the criminal charges filed against them.

Morente cautioned that the BI shall await the result of the criminal prosecution.

“We will not deport the subjects until a judgment has been made and they have served sentence,” he said in a statement.

The BI chief added the details of the arrested aliens were based on the official report submitted to him by the Alien Control Officer of the Olongapo Field Office.

The foreigners were arrested in a joint operation of the intelligence division of the Bureau of Customs (BoC) and agents from the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Anti-Illegal Drug Group and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). Ferdinand Patinio/PNA/northboundasia.com
