Classes suspended in parts of Luzon due to monsoon rains

MANILA — Some local government units (LGUs) have announced suspension of classes for Monday as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned against continuing monsoon rains over some parts of Luzon.

According to the list posted on the official Facebook page of the Department of Education (DepEd) as per LGUs’ announcements, classes in some areas have been cancelled, including:

Alaminos City, Pangasinan – pre-school to senior high school, public and private

Subic, Zambales – all levels, public and private

Iba, Zambales – all levels, public and private

Olongapo City – all levels, public and private

Bataan – all levels, public and private

The state weather bureau earlier said the southwest monsoon will bring rain in Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, and Pangasinan.

Calabarzon, the rest of the Ilocos Region, and other areas in Central Luzon will also experience occasional rains.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rains or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila. PNA/northboundasia.com
