LAOAG CITY — A land-based recruitment agency accredited by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) is in this city today to conduct a special recruitment for Ilocano nurses who are interested to work in Saudi Arabia.
Staffhouse International Resources in cooperation with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) located at the second floor of the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena is now accepting applicants to fill in around 500 available slots for registered nurses.
Ann Marie Lizette Bitancor, head of the PESO said the special recruitment program is still in line with the provincial government’s desire to employ more nurses here and abroad.
For those who are interested, Bitancor said applicants are encouraged to drop by at the Centennial Arena today to submit their resume.
In Ilocos Norte, the provincial government continues to implement the ‘Sagip Nars’ program where unemployed and mostly fresh graduate nurses get hired for at least three to six months.
Said program seeks to address the two-year minimum experience that new registered nurses need to carry out their profession in their respective communities.
Based on the latest PESO report, the Sagip Nars program had already employed over 800 Ilocano nurses, serving Ilocos Norte’s district hospitals and rural health units in the 21 towns and two cities here.PNA/ northboundasia.com
