28 suspected drug pushers, users surrender in Tuguegarao

TUGUEGARAO CITY — About 28 drug pushers and users in this city voluntarily surrendered to the Tuguegarao City Police Station (TCPS) Wednesday after they were urged to do so to police authorities.

Police Superintendent Jessie Tamayao, City police chief, said the 28 drug pushers and users presented themselves to the TCPS in the presence of the village chiefs.

Tamayao said he sought all his village chiefs to submit the names of the suspected drug pushers and users and give them the opportunity to stop the illegal activities and renew their living and not to engage anymore in illegal drug trades.

“We appreciate the move of suspected drug pushers and users of the town for voluntarily submitting themselves to the authorities and hoping that we can change their lives,” the police official added.

The suspected drug pushers and users signed an Affidavit of Undertaking promising to end their illegal drug activities and help the police in its fight against illegal drugs.

He said that once they violate the pledge and continue their illegal drug activities, they will be charged.

The suspected drug pushers and users will undergo an orientation on Saturday at the people’s gym here. PNA/northboundasia.com
