MANAOAG, Pangasinan — The principal suspect in the attempt on the life of the former assistant Provincial Health Officer of Pangasinan last year was finally arrested after months of hiding.
The suspect, Mario Castillo, 46, of Barangay Bolo in San Jacinto town was arrested on June 20 at about 3:20 p.m by joint elements of 4th District Race Tracker Team and Special Investigation Task Group Rosario and of the San Jacinto and Mangaldan Police led by Sr. Insp. Hermy Ancheta.
Castillo was accused of shooting and wounding Dr. Jeremy Rosario, incoming board member of the fourth district of Pangasinan, when the latter was alone driving his car while going home to Manaoag after his duty at the Mapandan District Hospital.
He sustained gunshot wound in the shoulder but despite his wound he was able to drive his car back to the Mapandan District Hospital where he was given immediate medical attention.
The suspect was served by lawmen with a copy of the Alias Warrant of Arrest for the crime of frustrated murder. Recommended bail bond for his temporary liberty was Php200,000.
Castillo is now under the custody of the Manaoag police. PNA/northboundasia.com
