LAOAG CITY — The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is in Laoag City today to intensify its campaign on “Matalinong Panonood, ” briefing Ilocano residents here.
Led by Atty. Ricardo Salomon Jr. along with nine personnel from MTRCB, the group is in Ilocos Norte for three days as they have scheduled radio tours, organize forums in schools and inspections to bus terminals and other commercial establishments.
At bus terminals, the MTRCB will be conducting random inspection to monitor their compliance with the board regulation that allows public vehicles to show only materials rated G and PG.
Dubbed as “Matalinong Panonood Para sa Pamilya at Lipunan nina Juan at Juana,” the MTRCB is reaching out to provinces to educate all sectors on the promotion and protection of family, youth, women, and other vulnerable sectors of society requiring special attention in the realm of media and entertainment.
The MTRCB is also expected to meet with Governor Imee Marcos at the Provincial Capitol and later on move at the City Hall for a courtesy visit with Laoag City mayor Chevylle Fariñas. PNA/northboundasia.com
