STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan — Unshaken by the threat of the incoming administration to put an end to the problem of drugs in the country by executing drug pushers, two top drug personalities still continued their illegal activities but were arrested in separate towns of Pangasinan on June 21.
Arrested at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Barbara was one Ricardo Servillon Melecio, 56, of Nueva Street in Dagupan City, who is under the drug watchlist of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 1.
Melecio was identified as No. 6 in the priority list of the Dagupan City Police.
Lawmen arrested him after handling one sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer in exchange for P100 marked money.
When frisked by police operatives, two more sachets of shabu were found in his pocket.
Meanwhile, one Lorenzo Quimzon Jr., 30, a welder, was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Bugallon by the Bugallon Police at 7:40 p.m. of June 21 in another buy-bust operation.
Quimzon, identified as Top 7 target drug personality in Bugallon town sold one sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer for P300.
Two more sachets of shabu were found in the suspect’s possession.
Both suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act No. 9165. PNA/northboundasia.com
