Baguio Hospital Marks 15th Year Anniversary inaugurates state of the art facility

BAGUIO CITY — Patients from La Union, Pangasinan and the rest of Benguet province needing CT scans and x-ray examinations could now avail of the state of the art diagnostic facility at the Baguio Medical Center.

BMC medical director Dr, Jennifer Claridad Balatian said their modern diagnostics facility features a state-of-the-art brand new 16 slice CT scan unit and a 500MA series Quantum X-Ray, which could process results in just a day.

She said the BMC is now in a position to take in spillovers from as far as La Union and Pangasinan whose hospitals are overwhelmed with patients needing immediate diagnostics examinations.

The formal commissioning of new facility coincided with the BMC’s 15th year anniversary last June 15..

Balatian said the modern medical facility was given the green light by the DOH Cordillera Autonomous Regional Engr. Nora Benavidez who certified the facility site as DOH compliant.

Balatian also said the facility is proof of BMC’s commitment to provide modern healthcare facility to their stakeholders and improve needs of their patients.

“As we mark our 15th year anniversary, we are reinforcing our commitment to quality and accessible healthcare with the formal dedication of our newest diagnostics center,” Balatian said during the simple event to mark BMC’s 15th year in providing quality and affordable healthcare to the people of Baguio and nearby communities.

She said to further boost capacity, the hospital may ultimately decide to provide 24/7 operations on their CT scan and X-Ray services to serve its patients on the round the clock basis.

She said the new diagnostics center could serve 20 patients a day for CT scan and about 100 patients daily for X-Ray, which could increase further if the operation hours are extended.

The modern CT scan and X-Ray machines are part of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) forged late last year with healthcare technology provider Mediarchives Philippines Inc. (MAPI), which supplied the modern medical chines.

The partnership ensures timely, quality and fast processing of diagnostics results using modern technology like teleradiology, which allows patients in remote areas to receive diagnosis on their X-rays or CT Scans with the help of an off-site radiologist via teleconference or internet.

One of the first and most recognizable hospitals in the city, BMC is a privately-owned and is a member of the Philippine Hospital Association. Thom Picana / northboundasia.com
