2 suspected drug peddlers killed in Nueva Ecija

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — Two suspected drug pushers were killed by unidentified gunmen almost simultaneously in different towns of Nueva Ecija Tuesday night.

A 20-year-old woman was also wounded in one of the attacks, police said.

Efren Damian, 60, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Sta. Rita, Cabiao succumbed to two gunshot wounds on the head while his live-in partner, Angeline Dar, is undergoing treatment for a bullet wound in her right arm, PO3 John Ignacio said.

Investigation disclosed that the couple were inside their sari-sari store in the said village when two suspects fired at Damian using cal .45 pistol at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

They were brought to a local hospital but Damian was declared dead on arrival.

In nearby San Antonio town, another alleged drug peddler, Antonio Reyes Jr., a resident of Barangay Sto. Cristo was gunned down by a lone suspect, also at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim, the police said, was sitting on a bench by the road shoulder when the gunman suddenly appeared and shot him successively, hitting him at the back.

Reyes was declared dead upon arrival at the Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center here, the police said. PNA/northboundasia.com
