Chopper that crashed in Pangasinan suffers engine trouble

BINALONAN, Pangasinan–A two-seater Sykorsky helicopter crash-landed on a grassy field at the Caris Ville subdivision in Barangay Canarvacanan here after its engine conked out at about 10 a.m. Friday.
Initial investigation showed the chopper, with number RP-C 337, came from Plaridel, Bulacan and was flying north when it suffered engine trouble.
Pilot Capt. Dante Rinos, flying master, and passenger Louie Ibarra, a private pilot, suffered injuries as a result of the crash.
Chief Insp. Lovell Urbano Dalisay, Binalonan chief of police, said rescuers took the duo to the Urdaneta Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment.
Dalisay also said that upon touch down on the vacant lot, the choppers’rotor blade hit the roof of an adjacent residential house owned by Cristobal Tomeldan, causing damages of still undetermined amount. PNA/northboundasia.com
