PDEA-CAR, BCPO tie-up yield one more drug dealer

CAMP BADO DANGWA, LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -– Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Cordillera Regional Office (PDEA-CAR) in coordination with the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) collared a member of a local drug group in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday night, June 7 in Barangay Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.
PDEA-CAR Information Officer Joseph Calulut on Wednesday identified the suspect as Abdul Raffy Zenab Ampaso a.k.a. Mark Paul or Odin, 24, a native of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur and a resident of Barangay Lower Quirino Hill.
Ampaso was arrested after selling a heat-sealed sachet containing Methamphetamine (shabu) weighing 3.7671 grams worth PHP10,000 to a PDEA-CAR operative.
Ampaso is the 13th personality arrested in Baguio City since January 2016.
Ampaso is temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR Office holding facility pending the filing of violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 before the proper authorities.
Calulut said it is expected that more drug group members operating in Baguio City will be arrested following the conception of OPLAN EAGLE’S CLAW, a joint anti-drug campaign by law enforcers to be implemented in Baguio City.
The joint operation aims to clear barangays of drug personalities who prey on hapless drug users. PNA/northboundasia.com
